Share Monitoring With Your Team Without Sharing a Password

Monitoring is rarely a solo job. The on-call engineer, the DevOps lead, the agency managing a client’s stack — they all need to see the same dashboards. Yet most uptime tools leave you two bad options: share one login, or have everyone create a separate account and re-add the same monitors.

Sharing a password means no accountability, and anyone can delete a monitor by accident. Separate accounts mean the same site gets checked five times over, alerts scatter across five inboxes, and you pay five times. Neither is how a team should work.

Workspace sharing fixes this.

Invite colleagues, keep your account

A workspace can now be shared with other PingZen users. Invite a colleague by their account email, pick a role, and they immediately see that workspace’s monitors, dashboard, and incidents — under their own login, with their own name on every action.

Crucially, plan limits follow the workspace owner. A teammate on the Free plan still works inside your Pro or Business quotas — monitor count, alert volume, check interval — as long as they’re acting in your shared workspace. Your team doesn’t each need to upgrade; the owner’s plan covers everyone in it.

Two roles, clear boundaries

ActionEditorViewer
View dashboard, monitors, incidents, stats
Create / edit / delete monitors, run checks
Configure their own alerts
  • Viewer — read-only access to everything in the workspace, plus their own alerts. Perfect for stakeholders who need visibility, not control.
  • Editor — full hands-on access: create, edit, pause, delete, and run monitors, right alongside the owner.

Either way, alerts stay personal. Every member configures and receives their own notifications, and no one can see or touch another member’s alerts. The on-call engineer wires up PagerDuty; the manager just wants a weekly email — both live in the same workspace without stepping on each other.

Owner stays in control

Status pages, maintenance windows, and member management remain owner-only. Add or remove people whenever you like — remove a member and their access is revoked instantly, with the alerts they created in that workspace deactivated in the same step. No lingering notifications from someone who left the team.

Getting started

  1. Open the workspace selector in the sidebar and choose Manage Workspaces.
  2. On a workspace you own, click the members icon.
  3. Invite a colleague by their PingZen account email and choose Editor or Viewer.
  4. They’re in — same monitors, their own alerts, your plan’s limits.

Sharing is available on the Pro plan and above.
